Yannick y Ben Jakober

Spanish Patron Award 2026

The Yannick and Ben Jakober Foundation was established in 1993 by the artist and collector couple Yannick Vu and Ben Jakober. That year, an old underground cistern on the Sa Bassa Blanca estate was converted to house a unique collection of children’s portraits dating from the 16th to the 19th centuries.

Despite its relatively short history, the foundation’s heritage has been recognised on numerous occasions: the Nins collection was declared a Listed Asset of the Historical Heritage of the Balearic Islands, and the Mudejar coffered ceiling a Site of Cultural Interest. The foundation has also received awards and honours, such as the Special Mention of the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards (2009), the Gold Medal of the City of Alcúdia (2008), and the Gold Plaque from the Mallorca Tourism Promotion Foundation (2008), the Tourism Experience Award (2017), amongst many others.
