Felipa Jove

Spanish Patron Award 2022

Felipa Jove is president of the María José Jove Foundation, a foundation named after her deceased sister, which was established in 2003. The María José Jove Foundation works with children and social inclusion through four areas of activity: Art, Health, Education and Training, Leisure and Healthy Time.

Felipa inherited her father’s passion for art and has made it one of the cornerstones of the foundation. Manuel Jove began his art collection with several Galician paintings and today the collection treasures more than 600 works by modern masters such as Picasso, Léger, Miro, Dalí, Kandinsky, or contemporary artists such as Louise Bourgeois, Anselm Kiefer or Antony Gormley, among many others.

Over the years, this magnificent collection has travelled throughout all the Galician provinces through masterfully curated exhibitions, always with a special focus on children, young people and people with disabilities, with the aim of promoting the creative spirit and integration.

Of special relevance is the Art and Health program, to improve the physical, mental and social health of people at risk of exclusion.

The foundation carries out a scholarship program to contribute to the international training of local and national artists and organizes the annual Marta Garcia-Fajardo International Painting Awards, whose objectives are to contribute to the promotion of artistic practice and the promotion of the visual arts.

Among his latest exhibitions, it is worth mentioning “Cuerpos Presentes. Maria José Jove Art Collection” in Santiago de Compostela
